Through Baptism, we are associated with the new Pascal Mystery of Christ; we are united with Him in death in order to be born into new life (Easter Vigil).  This is the time of Grace that the Church leads us through for 50 days: from Easter to Pentecost, from the Easter fire to the fire of the Holy Spirit, from recalling our baptism to bearing witness in the world to our faith.

Serving in the Baths gives us the opportunity to express this pascal ‘mystery’ in a very specific way: welcoming, listening, accompanying and sending pilgrims back to their everyday lives with a new life given to them providentially by ‘the Lady.’  This is the mission entrusted to us in this year 2018, rich in architectural renovations on the ‘plateau.’

The new arrangements of the waiting area outside the baths has led us to try out new ways of organising our service.  We are aware that we need to look more carefully at everything that goes on, both inside and outside.  People have asked me to guarantee that the authentic spirit of our service will be preserved, based as it is on the Gospel and on Our Lady’s message to Bernadette through the apparitions.  I know that this expectation can only be met if we work together in mutual prayer and active service.  These are not just words; I fervently believe in the renewal of our spirit of fraternity and cooperation, whatever roles and responsibilities the Hospitalité may assign us.
